TOUR ITENARARY

Join 100.7 The Bay as we lace up our sneakers, tease up our hair, and crank our adrenaline to eleven!   The Rock 'n Run 5K is hitting the streets of Westminster, Md. and turning every mile into a music-fueled, high-voltage experience! Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a record-breaking speedster, or a backstage newbie, this 5K is your headlining gig.

Westminster may be known for its quiet country roads, but this is a full-blown arena tour on asphalt. As you wind through the course, every mile is its own setlist, blaring iconic riffs and anthems from decades of classic rock legends. We’ve got bands, DJs, and surprise jam sessions stationed along the route — because nothing powers a runner like a power chord.

Cross the finish and earn your rock-star-worthy medal, your backstage pass to bragging rights, and maybe even your very own “encore” as the crowd cheers you in. Costumes, band tees, and plenty of air guitar moves are highly encouraged. Whether you’re a first-time 5K’er or a road race veteran, the Rock 'n Run 5K is your chance to run like a legend, party like a fan, and leave the course shouting “Encore!”

WHY A TWILIGHT RUN?

Everyone knows that Rock Stars sleep in in the morning!  The Inaugural Rock 'n Run 5K will have a 5pm start time.  We are excited to offer this Twilight Run as something unique and different.  We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to spend your Saturday morning doing errands and taking the kids to practice and then make plans to run with us, followed by our Rockin' Post-race Party.   SUNSET ON RACE DAY IS 8:34pm

THE RIDER (aka giveaways)

THE SHIRT

These short sleeve authentic Under Armour tee shirts wick sweat fast, keeping you dry from the first song until the encore! They’re made to keep you cool, too, so you’re not overheating while you rock out!

THE MEDAL

Every finisher will earn this rock star worthy medal for completing their race.  This one will have you screamin' "I WANNA ROCK!" and make you feel like you can wear it and walk backstage at every concert you attend.

THE SET LIST (aka the course)

From the moment you cross the start line, the beat drops and the crowd roars like the opening riff of an arena anthem. Each stretch of the course is amped up with live music, pumping playlists, and cheering fans that’ll make you feel like the headliner on tour.

Runners must be able to complete the course within 1 hour (19:35/mile pace).

  • Mile 1 – The Opening Act: Kick things off strong as the crowd energy builds and the speakers blast the perfect pump-up jams.

  • Mile 2 – The Guitar Solo: Settle into your stride, find your rhythm, and let the music carry you like a soaring solo.

  • Mile 3 – The Encore: Time to crank the volume, hit your stride, and leave it all on stage as you race toward the finish line.

HOSPO (aka the water stop)

Image

Let’s face it, something as basic as a display of drinks on a table in the dressing room is one of the most important components of any gig.  While Van Halen once made the contractual demand that brown M&M's be plucked from the group’s candy bowl, there's no extraordinary item requests here!

We will have one water stop on the course and water at the finish line to keep your hydration up during the 5K. Participants are welcome to bring their own water on course with them.  And, if you need additional on course nutrition such as gel, please bring your own.

LOAD IN (aka packet pick up)

Image

Before the band arrives, the Roadies do what's called the Load In, where all the necessary equipment for the gig is loaded into the venue.  For your race day gig, you will be able to pick up your race shirt and bib that day. Below is the schedule:

SATURDAY 6/13  @ Westminster Farm Museum from 2p to 4a

To pick up your packet, please bring your QR CODE that will be emailed to you during race week. Your QR CODE is also included in your confirmation email.  You may pick up for a friend as long as you have thier QR CODE and/or written confirmation that you have permission to do so.  (e.g email, text, printed note, etc.)

The Race Starts promptly at 5pm.  Please be sure to attend packet pick up at the times above to assure you are able to make it the start in a timely fashion.

GROUPIES (aka social teams)

GROUPIES get discounted entry fees, as well as additional benefits and prices.  Running with a friend (or a group!) really is so much more fun than running alone. Once the race is over, a team is there to celebrate, and relax after the accomplishments of the day. Plus, they’ll keep people going and motivate them to keep training or finish strong if they’re starting to feel sluggish mid-race.

TOUR RULES (aka restrictions)

1 HOUR TIME LIMIT   |  NO DOGS ON THE COURSE OR AT THE FINISH LINE FESTIVITIES

The Rock 'n Run 5K is a chip-timed event.  Participants must finish the 5K course in under 1 hour.  As long as you can finish under the time limit, participants can run, jog or walk the entire course. Don’t worry, the post race festivites at the end of the race will be eagerly awaiting you!

Jogging strollers are permitted but are asked to start in the back of the pack.  Wheelchair athletes are permitted but due to safety concerns and street closure restrictions cannot travel faster than the fastest runner.   No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or other wheeled vehicles are allowed.  PLEASE NO DOGS ON THE COURSE OR AT THE FINISH LINE FESTIVITIES.
